Mario Balotelli's New Cleat

This is the new cleat that Mario Balotelli was wearing against Roma. The cleat is covered in newspaper headlines about himself. Seems like something a very humble person would come up with. Balotelli has had a contract with Nike but it is coming to an end so nobody is really sure who made this cleat. Soccer Cleats 101 thinks that it might be Puma. MLS Cup Final

On Saturday Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City played in the MLS cup final. It was in the middle of the day which seemed like a weird time. I wasn't able to watch the game because I was in California for the Western Regional Footlocker race for Cross Country. Both teams scored only one goal in regulation and overtime. Sporting Kansas City won the MLS cup in a penalty shoot out. You can watch the shoot out above. If Saborio had hit his PK then I think Real Salt Lake would have won. Palmer's shot should have gone in. Usually if the ball hits the crossbar on a PK it goes in but not this time. I hate when players do a stutter step on there PK. Velasquez did a stutter step and his shot ended up being blocked.

Good Game

This Sunday Manchester City plays Tottenham Hotspurs. I think that this will be a great game. If you wan't to see a play by play of the game click here. It has been more than one year ago though so it will be interesting to see who will win. The stats are very cool. I like how they display shots on goal and shots off target.

Independiente Santa Fe

Last Sunday Independiente Santa Fe played Boyaca Chico. Santa Fe was the away team and somehow they forgot to bring their away jerseys. They had their home jerseys but because they were the same color as Chico's home jersey they couldn't wear them. To start the game Santa Fe wore their gray warm up jerseys and taped their numbers on the back. Because of the humidity and sweat the numbers began to peel off. At half time Santa Fe decided to buy counterfeit jerseys from a street vendor and color in their name and number on the back. The jerseys only cost $6.37. Santa Fe ended up winning 2-0. After the game Santa Fe's club president issued a statement apologizing to Umbro for using fake jerseys.

New Nike Mercurial

This is the new Nike Mercurial CR7. I think that it is really ugly. Most of the time I don't like the CR7 cleats. I think that Nike tries to hard to make the next big thing. It also seems weird to make such an "out there" cleat so close to when they made the Nike Premier, which is going back to the classic style. I think that lots of people will like this cleat despite the design just because Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be wearing it. If you like this cleat you can get it here. Misspelled Names

I thought it would be funny to find names that were printed wrong onto professional soccer players jersey's. I thought of this because I knew somebody who was getting a Chelsea jersey and the company that made the shirt put Drobga instead of Drogba. I found the two above and there is also one for Chris Wondolowski. For Wondolowski they spelled it Wondowlowski. If you have seen any mess ups on name spelling for professional jersey say who it was in the comments. After further searching I actually found a list of misspelled things. It is pretty funny. Fastest MLS Goal

Today New York Red Bulls played the Houston Dynamo. Tim Cahill of the Red Bulls scored the fastest goal in MLS history. He scored 8 seconds into the game. It was about 20 yard shot. The video is a little grainy but I couldn't find a better one.

2014 World Cup Qualifiers

Recently there have been a lot of qualifying games for the 2014 Brazil World Cup. Yesterday Netherlands smashed Hungary 8-1. Robin van Persie scored a hat trick. Hungary didn't even score their one goal, Szilard Devecseri scored an own goal. The game that really suprised me was Portugal Israel. The score was 1-1 and Cristiano Ronaldo didn't even score. Italy tied with Denmark 2-2. USA beat Jamaica 2-0. Jozy Altidore and Graham Zusi scored for the US.

New Nike Shoes

Nike came out with some new soccer shoes. This one is my favorite. I like the greenish blue with the black. This is the Nike Gato II. My second favorite shoe is the Nike Lunar Gato II. The Nike5 Devinho and the Nike5 Elastico are also pretty cool. The Nike Elastico Pro II is pretty ugly. The purple and black with the lime green just doesn't look good. FIFA 14 Now Out

BPL

Somehow Liverpool lost to Southampton 1-0 yesterday. West Brom beat Sunderland 3-0 yesterday which surprised because I figured that the game would end in a draw. The two games that haven't been played yet is the Tottenham Cardiff City game and the Manchester United and Manchester City game. I think that Tottenham will crush Cardiff City and I think that Manchester City will beat Manchester United 1-0.

Nike Tiempo Legend IV

I found this cleat, the Nike Tiempo Legend IV and I really like it. I like the bright color, described as volt, with the black tongue and Nike swoosh. I like the design of Tiempos because it isn't super fancy but it isn't as simple as the Nike Premier. The color of the two diagonal stripes on the back and on the sole look really good with the bright color of the body of the cleat. Currently this cleat is sold out on nike.com. Fifa 14

I am pretty sure that this is going to be the Fifa 14 cover but I could be wrong. Lionel Messi is on all of them but I have seen Chicharito, Neymar, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and many others. One of my friends showed me one that had Messi and Bale, Bale was still in a Tottenham jersey, but his face was covered in money. I have Fifa 12 and loved it and I think I will get Fifa 14. It comes out on September 24 but you can pre order it here. Depending on who you buy it from you can get special bonuses. I can't tell what is the best but two of them have 24 gold packs. I also found a list of the top 50 players on Fifa 14. Click here to view that list. If I am correct in ultimate team you can play with some old players that are amazing like Pele. Real Madrid

In Gareth Bale's first game for Real Madrid he scored a goal. Cristiano Ronaldo also scored a goal. Madrid tide with Villarreal  2-2. Ronaldo renewed his contract with Real Madrid all the way to 2018. Today Real Madrid played the Turkish team Galatasaray in the Champions League. Madrid crushed Galatasaray 6-1. Ronaldo scored a hat trick, Benzema scored two and Isco scored one. Bale was a substitute for Madrid and went in but didn't score. Iker Casillas, Madrid's goalkeeper, had to be subbed out after a collision with Ramos. Casillas was also returning from injury. This win puts Madrid as the number one seed so far in the Champions League. 

USMNT

Yesterday the US men's national team qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. They beat Mexico
2-0. Michael Bradley couldn't play due to an injury obtained in warmups from the Costa Rica game. Michael Besler and Jozy Altidore couldn't play in lat nights game because of double yellows. Besler obtained his second yellow in the Costa Rica game by doing nothing. A Costa Rica player walked behind him kicked himself then fell and the ref gave Besler a yellow. I was happy to see Kyle Beckerman of Real Salt Lake play in the center. I am hoping that that means he will play in the World Cup. You can get the shirt above here.

Arsenal shirt

I found this Arsenal  shirt that I think is pretty cool. I couldn't get the picture so here is the link. It is a 

pretty simple design but I think it looks good. I like how the Nike slogan is on the shirt. I like how it is 

in gold when Arsenal and the swoosh are in white. It was a good incorporation of the colors. I think 

that Arsenal will have a good season because of signing Mesut Ozil.

David Villa Jersey

I found David Villa's jersey for Atletico Madrid, his new home, and I really like it. The red and white stripes go good together and the sleeves look really cool. The collar is a good touch to this jersey. As always, I like how it is designed by Nike. The blue "V" in the collar looks very good. You can't see it in this picture, but on David Villa's number, which is nine, there are two white stripes. I think that it was an interesting idea that worked very well. More Transfer News

The transfer window is now closed. Some of the transfers that are big in my opinion are: David Villa left Barcelona and went to Atletico Madrid, Neymar left Santos and went to Barcelona, Gareth Bale left Tottenham and went to Real Madrid, Mesut Ozil left Real Madrid and went to Arsenal and Kaka left Real Madrid and went to AC Milan. I was really mad with David Moyes because of this trasfer window. Manchester United only signed tow players. Guillermo Varela and Marouane Fellaini. I think that United needed to get a center back and another midfielder. They only sold one player and put two on loans. I was just very frustrated because I would often check the Barclays Premier League ins and outs and until the very last day of the transfer player United only had one player in and I had never heard of him. I don't think that United are going to win the league this season. On the Spanish League I think that Real Madrid and Barcelona will be the top two teams and it will be very close the whole season. Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is now a member of Real Madrid. He became officially a part of Madrid after Tottenham's 1-0 loss to Arsenal. Bale set a new record for transfer price, breaking Ronaldo's record when he moved to Real Madrid. Bale's transfer price was about $132 million dollars, 100 euros. Bale sigend a six year contract. Arsenal have their eyes on Real Madrid's Mesut Ozil and Angel di Maria. Real Madrid is going to be even better than before. I think that Madrid is going to win Liga BBVA. In third place is Barcelona and if fourth place is Atletico Madrid. Bothe of those teams have played two games and have six points.

Todays Games

Today Manchester United lost to Liverpool 1-0. Tottenham lost to Arsenal 1-0 as well. I thought that the Arsenal Tottenham game would have had more goals scored. West Brom lost to Swansea 2-0. The current league leader is Liverpool with three games played and 9 points.

Manchester United vs Liverpool

I was excited for the Manchester United Liverpool game until I checked the score. The game is being played right now, but it is half time. The score is already 1-0 for Liverpool. Daniel Sturridge scored Liverpool's goal and was assisted by Daniel Agger. Sturridge scored in the 3rd minute. United already has three yellow cards. Tom Cleverly, Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick are the three yellow card recipients. Phil Jones was subbed off in the 37th minute due to injury and was replaced by Antonio Valencia. Hopefully the Red Devils can win this game. For a live match report click here. One good thing coming from this game is that my goal keeper on Fantasy Premier League is Simon Mignolet. I also have Jose Enrique, who is on Liverpool and Ryan Giggs and Robin van Persie who are on Manchester United. Half time is over now and second half just started.

Transfers

I am starting to get tired of hearing about Gareth Bale. I keep reading about how he wants to go to Real Madrid but I just want something to be set in stone. I really like Bale and think that he could do really well at Real Madrid. I have also been reading that Cristiano Ronaldo is thinking about Manchester United. I would LOVE if Ronaldo came to Manchester United. Robin van Persie with Ronaldo would be deadly. I think that United needs to get a big name player soon. Some of the names I have also read for United are Cesc Fabregas and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Either of those players I would also love to have in United. I think that tho only one of these transfers that will happen though this season is Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. I found this about Bale and Real Madrid.

Werder Bremen Jersey

This is the Werder Bremen 2013-2014 jersey. I really like it. I like how instead of having the two different greens be checker board they are in diamonds. I also like how the collar is white and how it differs from the sleeves which have orange on them as well. And like always I like how this jersey is Nike. You can get the Werder Bremen jersey here.

Seattle Sounders vs Portland Timbers

Last night Seattle Sounders played the Portland Timbers. Seattle won 1-0. This was Clint Dempsey's first game for his new team. I don't like how Dempsey switched from Tottenham Hotspurs in the Barclays Premier League to Seattle Sounders who are in the MLS. Eddie Johnson scored the only goal in the 59th minute off of a header. The ball came in from Mauro Rosales's free kick. Seattle's next game is on Saturday against Columbus Crew. I'm hoping that Dempsey will be able to score in his next match. Portland's next game is on Friday against my favorite MLS team Real Salt Lake.

Best European Uniform

Fox Soccer made a uniform count down of best jerseys in Europe and put it on Twitter. They had 25 uniforms for 25 days. 25th was Liverpool and 1st, the best design, was Paris Saint Germain. I love the PSG jersey and think it was the right choice to win.I really am not that big of a fan on the Liverpool uniforms. Click here to see the list of uniforms. The Napoli away jersey is camouflage and I don't think that that was a good choice. I don't know why Napoli was rated 19th. I think they should have been ranked lower. I think that number three, which was Tottenham should have swapped with the number two which was Inter Milan. There is also the first draft of the Liverpool away jersey if you scroll lower. It looks like an ugly sweater. Also scroll to the very bottom for a funny story on Barnsley and Crystal Palace.

Jozy Altidore

Jozy Altidore of the US men's national team played his second game for Sunderland today. Sunderland tied with Southampton 1-1. Jozy hasn't been able to score yet with his new team but if he plays in their next game against Crystal Palace I think that he will. For a full recap of the match click here.

Arsenal vs Fulham

Today Arsenal beat Fulham 3-1. Olivier Giroud scored 13 minutes into the match assisted by Aaron Ramsey. Later in the 40th minute Lukas Podolski scored making it 2-0. In the 67th minute Lukas Podolski scored again assisted by Santiago Cazorla. In the 76th minute Darren Bent of Fulham scores their only goal making the game 3-1. Unfortunately one of my favorite players, Dimitar Berbatov, was unable to score for Fulham. For a full game report click here. Chelsea Away Jersey

This is the Chelsea away jersey. I really like the simple design. I like how there are the two horizontal stripes on the chest, one red and one blue. I like how they differ in size. This jersey made the top 25 jersey list. To see the top 25 jerseys click here. This list was made by the people who made the top 25 ugly jerseys. Beneath the picture it says, "Fresh from murdering a family of Smurf, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba are here to show off the new Chelsea away strip." When I saw this picture I had no clue what was up with the blue. I really don't like it at all but the jersey makes up for the blue. 

Barclays Premier League

The Barclays Premier League kicked off on Saturday the 17th with seven games. Manchester United, last seasons champions are off to a good start. They won the pre season community cup shield and started their season with a 4-1 win over Swansea. Last years runner ups, Manchester City, are off to an even better start with a 4-0 win over Newcastle. Due to goal differential Manchester City are ahead of city rivals Manchester United. Manchester City looks like they won't be missing Carlos Tevez who is know playing for Juventus. The game that surprised me the most was Arsenal losing 1-3 to Aston Villa. Nike Premier Cleat

Nike has made a new cleat called the Nike Premier. The cleat is good for fit, traction and touch. It is designed however to look like an older style as you can tell from the picture. Unlike new cleats that are bright and multicolored this cleat is plain black and white. At first I didn't really like the look but now I think that it is cool. Community Shield

Yesterday Manchester United and Wigan Athletic played for the Community Shield. Manchester United made it to the Community Shield by winning the Barclays Premier League and Wigan made it to the Community Shield by winning the FA Cup. Manchester United won 2-0. David Moyes is starting off his Manchester United with one award already. Robin van Persie scored both of United's goals. Seems like Manchester United is off to a great start.

International Champions Cup

Last night Real Madrid played Chelsea in the International Champions Cup final. Real Madrid beat Chelsea 3-1. Before the match Jose Mourinho had been criticizing Cristiano Ronaldo. Why Mourinho had been criticizing him I have no idea because Ronaldo scored two of Real Madrid's three goals. One came from a set piece going over the wall hitting the crossbar and going in and the other came off of a header in the box. Ronaldo was also awarded as the Man of the Match. You can get Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid jersey here. Marcelo Vieira scored Real Madrid's first goal and Ramires scored Chelsea's only goal.

Clint Dempsey

Clint Dempsey, former player for Tottenham Hotspurs recently transferred back to the MLS. Clint Dempsey is going to be playing for Seattle Sounders. Clint Dempsey will wear the number two Seattle Sounders jersey. USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann isn't that happy with Dempsey's move because he wants his players to play at higher levels. It will be interesting to see if Spurs by anybody new because they might lose Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

An American Coach in London

I found this video called An American Coach in London. It is so funny. It's about a coach from America being head coach for Tottenham Hotspurs. The coach doesn't know anything about soccer. I love when he asks who Gareth Bale is and where he is from. I also like the part when one of the guys hammers the ball over the goal and the coach thinks it is a field goal.

Nike Tiempo Futsal Shoes

This is the Nike Tiempo Mystic 4. I really like this futsal shoe. I like how the laces are a different color than the rest of the shoe. I like how the color of the laces is used for the stitching, tongue and other parts of the shoe. For my next pair of futsal shoes I want some Tiempos. Antonio Valencia of Manchester United wears Tiempos. Valencia's cleats are blue with a white swoosh. You can see the different colors if you click on the picture.

Nike Mercurial Veloce

This is the Nike Mercurial Veloce Firm Ground. It is a very simple design but the cleat still looks good. I like the way the electric green looks with the silver. This cleat is usually $120.99 but now it is on sale for $79.99. I like how the sole of the cleat has air holes for better breathability.

New Tottenham Hotspurs Kit

This is the new Tottenham Hotspurs Kit. I like how on the collar and sleeves there is black then white then black again. I like how the badge is solid black. Under Armour made a simple but very good looking jersey. I love the away jersey. The color is really nice and the pattern on it is very cool. If you click on Tottenham Hotspurs it the away jersey is worn by Gareth Bale on the right. It will be interesting to see if Bale will be staying with Tottenham or if he will go to Real Madrid.

Ugly Jerseys

After further searching for ugly jerseys I found a link to the top 25 ugliest jerseys of all time. Some I totally agree with but some less so. The jersey I found ugliest is definitely the one above. It is Hull City's jersey 1992-1993. I know that the Hull City Mascot is a tiger but this is going too far. If I played for Hull City at this time I would quit. This years jersey is way better. It's pretty cool. Here is a link to the top 25 ugliest jerseys ever. When you look at the Colorado Caribous jersey try not to throw up.

Boca Juniors Jersey

I think that I may have just found the ugliest jersey. If you are a fan of Boca Juniors I am sorry. This is Boca Juniors 3rd jersey. I think that the two purples look awful to begin with but together it is even worse. I don't like how the purples are pinstriped into the other purple. The Boca Juniors badge is blue and yellow, which doesn't go good with the purple. I think that a light and dark blue would have looked much better. I do however like the black on the collar and sleeve.

2013/2014 Celtic Jersey

This is the 2013/2014 Celtic jersey. I think that it is pretty cool. I like how it has green and white hoops. I think that it is cool how the green hoops are broken up by smaller white ones. I also like the badge on the left side. It is simple but cool looking. You can get the Celtic jersey here.
